Hello ~

It is my pleasure to introduce you to a short summary of the highly anticipated short film I’m currently working on…called:

“THE BOX”

One summer night, an angel appears in a little boy’s bedroom. The angel gives the boy a small, decorative wooden box, and asks the boy to keep it safe until the angel returns. The boy agrees, moved to tears by the sight of his angel. He carries the box with him everywhere he goes. As he grows older, he begins to paint his angel over and over, trying to find that feeling again, trying to explain that feeling to other people. Finally, at the end of his life, the angel returns.

This is an adaptation of an award-winning children’s short story. The author, Bruce Coville, has said numerous times over the years that it’s the most beautiful thing he has written and will ever write. He doesn’t know where it came from, and he feels like he touched something divine when he wrote it. I agree with him. It took a long time for him to trust me enough to allow me to make a film of it – and it’s very important to me that I make a great film. I know I will – this sort of story is in my bones and in my blood, and I know exactly how to tell it well. I just need the backing to get us there.
